Guest guest
Hi there, I'm new, and I'm not the one with pancreatic problems, my brother is. He's in a hospital in Phoenix, has been since 09/09/03. He was diagnosed with Acute Pancreatitis, has been off of food since the 9th, and has had a series of CAT scans which have show a couple of nacrotic (sp?) spots on the pancreas (I'm sure there's more, but I can't think right now - I'll do better later). The latest scan showed that the spots have grown. I think tomorrow he will be seeing a specialist (at a hospital that he is being transfered to today), and I think surgery is being considered as an option. I don't really know what I'm looking for information-wise. I suppose I'm just wondering if there's anyone out there who could maybe explain what the nacrotic bits mean. I know that it's dieing/dead spots, but what does that mean? It can't be good. :-) I don't have a lot of information, and hear most things second hand. I'm holding down the fort at home, and my mother is out there passing along news......so, I'm feeling very uninformed. I would really, really appreciated anything anyone had to say. Thanks,
