Hi : I haven't read many messages lately, I just got out of the

hospital myself, and then my Dad died so I have been off-line. But I wanted

to drop you a quick line to let you know that I have been diagnosed with cp

for a year, had it for about a year before that. This last weekend the pain

just got to be too much, and I ended up in the ER and then admitted for 4

days. I was diagnosed at s Hopkins, and here at the local hospital,

they were doing tests to rule out cp? Can you believe the incompetence? How

do you rule out something that is chronic. They were trying to say they

didn't think I even had pancreatitis because my enzymes weren't elevated,

and they couldn't see any damage on the CT Scan. I had an appointment at

s Hopkins yesterday, and the doctor there (who diagnosed me) has

scheduled another ERCP. I told him about these doctors locally, and he

admitted that doctor's who are not familiar with cp do not understand the

extent of the pain or that damage very often cannot be seen my the CT Scan.

That I shouldn't listen to them anymore. I am so grateful that there are

doctors that do understand and would always try to encourage someone to go

to a cp specialist. Hope you are doing ok today. Robin
