Andre: I don't know that I can say anything to advise you, but I can say

that there are times when I feel just like you. I haven't had any weight

loss, but the constant pain, trying to find medication that works, to give

me some " quality of life " is very, very frustrating. My husband is usually

so supportive, but I can tell that this is starting to wear on him. When

I'm sick, he feels it helps to ask me what I've eaten to cause the pain. Or

if the pain is bad, and I've used up my supply for the day by 3:00 p.m., he

says I should have spaced it out better. Or maybe he'll say I overdid it

the day before, when I felt good. Just seems like I can't win. I know he

just want to help, but he's going a little overboard with the whole control

thing.

I don't think my doctor would recommend the Pancreaectomy/Islet-Cell

Transplant surgery, in fact after the last stent on June 9, 2003 he said I

shouldn't be having any more pain! Of course, I haven't called him, but

it's only been a month, and I know it takes some time for my pancreas to

settle down.

I hate to whine and complain, but you have to. It's worse to hold it

in, and makes the depression worse. I was put on Paxil, and was hungry all

the time. They changed me to Zoloft and that's been better.

I'm fortunate that I can still work, and sometimes can even do stuff

around the house. It bugs me though, that without the pain medicine, I

would not be able to leave my bed. At least my new pain management doctor

understands that. Though he was not so understanding when I called and told

him that my breakthrough pain medicine was working, and I was living to take

my Oxycontin, which I can only take every 12 hours.

So, see here I am whining too. Tomorrow is another day, and I have to

look at the things I can do, and not the things I can't do!

Hugs,

Robin
