Guest guest
Has anybody STARTED with pancreatitis and THEN had gb surgery? This is what my son's doctors are telling him to do. His ap is supposedly caused by gallstones and biliary sludge (a lot of it). Carol > Regarding posts inquiring about cp following gallbladder surgery, my > husband Bruce has experienced this. Guest guest
From the lack of response I'm assuming that there's nobody out there who has had gb surgery AFTER a dx of pancreatitis. Strange, since the doctor who is promoting this surgery thinks the gallbladder problem is a common cause of ap - is this wrong? Guest guest
Hi Carol, Sorry about the late reply but there are so many posts in this group (which is fantastic) it takes me forever and a day to read them all! I was diagnosed with Fatty Liver and Gallbladder disease before I had me first attack of AP. I then had my G/B removed but the severe abdominal hasn't stopped. They have diagnosed SOD (sphincter of oddi dysfunction), but the pain feels identical to pancreatic pain. When I had my G/B removed the surgeon told me he didn't know if it was the pancreas affecting the gallbladder or vice versa! Best Wishes Shelley
