Guest guest
Dear All, Last entire week was very difficult for all of us. It started with high fever (104 deg F max) which was coming down with paracetamol. Her throat swab indicated Streptococci and her ped. started Augmentin. After 3 days Sharada complained chest pain, So her doctor took the x-ray to find a large patch of Pneumonia in the lower right lung. Immediately she was admitted to hospital. Today is 5th day of her hospitalization. She is receiving Fortum & Genta in IV and Tobra in neb. Clinically her chest is clear and recent throat swab came normal. Doctor is saying that she has to be in the hospital for 2 weeks total. Now I would like to listen to similar experiences. Following are some of my doubts: 1. Sharada detected PA first time two years back and was admitted to hospital for 2 weeks last year. Is this pneumonia related to PA even though sputum culture & throat swab is not indicating it ? 2. She is not gaining weight since 4 months (17.4 kg ). How to improve her weight? She is taking ADEKs multivitamin. 3. Can it be TB, as one doctor suspected and asked to do a Maantoux test. If yes how serious it is? We hope that she will be all right for her 6th birthday on 28th April.... Thanks for your patience.
