Guest guest
I have no idea what anaphylaxis is. I am new to all this. My allergic reaction was to an antibiotic called Biaxin. While I was on this I was having 2 severe attacks a day. They would start about 15 minutes after I would take it and last 6-8 hours. Since this antibiotic is to be taken every 12 hours I would have a few hours where the pain would be a little more tolerable with pain meds. The doctor kept insisting this could not be the cause, so after 9 days I took myself off and the severe attacks stopped. Then I found a site on the internet that said an allergic reaction to Biaxin would cause this. I brought this paper with me and when he tested my enzyme levels that had gone down so much he has to believe me. They say every attack you have leaves damage. Well I have had 18 severe attacks in the 9 days I was on this medication.
Guest guest
Hi I looked up anaphylaxis. I don't know if this will help but this happened to me a few times years ago. They knew it was a life threatening allergic reaction to something but didn't know what. I started paying close attention to everything I did and used and we finally figured it out. My daughter was on the antibiotic Keflex. She was very young and I had to give it to her. That's when we realized what was happening every any of my children were given this antibiotic I would have a reaction. It was caused from skin contact to Keflex which I didn't know I was allergic to. The doctors will no longer prescribe this medication to anyone in my home. They said they had never seen this happen before but if someone opens a bottle in the same room with me this may happen. Some of the particles may become air born and that is all it would take. I am supposed to carry medication with me at all times in case I am ever exposed to this again.
