Did you talk to her anesthesiologist because they can give her something to help control the coughing. When had her polyps removed I told her anesthesiologist about her coughing so much after surgeries and she said she would give her something to help that and BOY WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I don't remember what it was but it worked. Hope this helps. Deb A
Guest guest
JUST WANTED TO ASK A QUESTION. EILISH IS HAVING HER TONSILS AND ADENOIDS OUT AT 7.30AM TOMORROW. THEY WILL KEEP HER IN OVERNIGHT. WHAT CAN I EXPECT, AS IN VOMITTING BLOOD ETC. I LIKE TO BE FOREWARNED. BRIAN IS TAKING HER IN FOR IT AND I WILL TAKE LIAM TO WORK WITH ME THEN WE WILL GO IN AFTER WORK AND I WILL SLEEP THERE TOMORROW NIGHT. MY BIG QUESTION IS. SHE DOES MANUAL CPT WHICH INVOLVES THE ACTIVE BREATHING CYCLES, WHICH INCLUDES ALOT OF COUGHING. WILL THIS MAKE HER THROAT BLEED/HURT? I KNOW IT CANNOT BE STOPPED SO WHAT IT THE OPTIONS? I WILL HAVE PLENTY OF TIME IN THE MORNING TO READ THE REPLIES AS THEY WILL HAVE TO LEAVE AT 6.30A.M. SO I WILL HAVE TIME TO SPARE. THANKS JULIE (AUSTRALIA)
Guest guest
I CANNOT TELL YOU THERE SCHEDULE & HOW THEY WILL PREPARE YOU FOR WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN, but, I WOULD THINK THAT THE COPT WOULDN'T BE DONE THAT OR FOR A FEW DAYS. It will most likely be .day by day conditions. My grandson was all over the place playing , etc . It didn't slow him down at all. BUT...............no 2 are just alike. I think the surgery for that day will be enough . then play it by ear OR as the doctor says. You can double check with the CF doc as well as the surgeon Wishing you all the best for dear Eilish and of course my special thoughts for you all LOVE & HUGS, grandmomBEV hsp. admission JUST WANTED TO ASK A QUESTION. Guest guest
Her throat will hurt until a scab forms over the cut areas. Then for a couple of days the pain will be bearable. Then the scab will fall off about the the fourth of fith day and it will hurt badly again. At least this has been our experience. Guest guest
Hi , My had hers out many years ago, she was 5, I do think we stopped her cpt for a few days as it was too uncomfortable for her. But her lungs weren't so bad that she couldn't miss it a few days so I don't know about your Eilish. I think she did vomit blood a few times, its good to get it out. The big thing with Ang was she stopped drinking, and it went on for a few days. I took her back to the doctor and he told her she had to drink or she would have to go back in the hosp and have an IV and she wouldn't be asleep for it. She was afraid of IV's then as she'd never had them since she was a baby and when she went in for surgery they would put the IV after she was out by the gas. I guess that got through to her because she did start drinking after than and eating and she was fine. I hope this helps a little. This was over 10 yrs ago. So my memory is not so great! love, M Mom of age 19 wcf and Nick age 21 nocf
