Guest guest
Our family doc has returned from vacation and is now taking over the case. He's ordered a ct scan which Will is having done Thursday. The low energy levels have been the most dramatic symptom this past week(week three in recovery). I haven't seen mention of energy levels at all in any of the pancreatitis websites I've found. Do pancreatitis sufferers generally have problems with low energy?Beth Beth, You will find that many of us suffer from low energy. I think it's caused by several things. First of all, since our pancreas aren't functioning and absorbing the nutrients we should be getting from our food, we aren't absorbing all those essential vitamins and minerals that we need to recharge our batteries. Most of us take copius amounts of vitamin and mineral supplements. Also, many of us don't eat properly, especially when going through a bad episode of pain, the first thing we do is stop eating and resort to liquid diets until the pain settles down. We just don't get nourishment the way we should. Before I started on all the antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that I now take, I have no energy at all, and was easily fatigued. Every afternoon I had to take a nap, there was just no way I could get through the day, otherwise. I find I still need to nap several days a week, especially when going through a bad spell. I'm glad that Will will be able to see this other doctor and that he is taking your concerns seriously. You need to have your peace of mind about Will's physical health, and he needs to have some relief from his pain. Good luck, let us know what happens. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
