I just found out that we may be going to visit relatives there for in a few weeks and I was wondering where the nearest CF clinic is. Just in case we have a problem while we are there. We won't be able to go out of the area once we are there since we will only be in town for a few days. Let me know...

Guest guest
YES, they are really great as well. That would be at ALL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL the same number phone) they are all under one coor. Her name is Newkirt .She is the one for all appts, BUT you can always call the hospital direct too & get transferred ---especially in emergency. .here are the ###'s 880 6th street south--ste.390 St sburg,FL.33706 1- There are several doc-all experienced. they are changing directors this month . I cant remember which one is now the director. BUT one doc I have known for years there is Dr Tony Kriseman.(he has an accent-I think Australian??) And he is really good .The others are as well.... will take wonderful care of you. They have many satellites & that is why the scheduling is all thru here. The docs & nurses go to several cities so patients don't have to go so far & they are regular schedules in clinics .. not at a hall somewhere. All the various disciplines travel with TEAM too...its nice & they are good. They all go to the big conf each year so theory are updated. Just so you will fell comfortable.......... ..Again, I am just a couple easy hours away if you need anything. We also have a couple clinics up here as well. The Peds CFclinic team in TAMPA are super . Dr Bruce Schnapts(snaps) has been working the CF ctr for 15 years I know of . ALL on their staff are long term CF folks too. They have clinic right in TAMPA. addy is 17 BLV....rms 200 1-. They are part of U. of So. FL. too, but located across from street of hospital in downtown Tampa. they also do the CMS CF program for FL. in that area. Let me know if there is anything else...Remember I also have the CF Pharmacy in Orlando , so if you run out. whatever.call me. 1- If I am not in , ask for LOIS or (both are pharmacist & they will take care of you-tell them I told you to call-:) LOVE & HUGS, grandmomBEV Re: Tampa/St.Pete, FL Thanks GrandmaBev, Can you send me the Kids doc in St.Pete's? Guest guest
Thanks a ton! I am sure we probably won't need to be seen but I am trying to be safe. has this weird little cough and I just want to be armed in case of an emergency. Your recommendations mean that these are some of the good ones. This way if there is a problem I will know who to ask for. I'm more worried about traveling this time since she is coughing and she usually doesn't cough much at all. Also when we went to Disney (January '02) knocked her g-tube and popped the balloon in the Philly airport and her replacement one was in the already checked bags. We almost ended up at Celebration Hospital once we got to Orlando and I didn't know if they had a CF clinic or not, or if someone in the ER would even know how to handle it. I ended up forcing my squeemish self to change it. I had seen it changed but I had never done it. I have changed it several times since, so it's not so much that but it is the knowing that someone who knows about CF isn't too far away if we have an emergency. Sorry for the rambling and Thanks again for the names! Mom of , Queen of the Universe (my friend says that makes me the Queen Mum, LOL) Tampa/St.Pete, FL Hi, Is anyone in the Tampa/ St.Pete area? Guest guest
If anything happens in ORLANDO.GO TO -- " ARNOLD PALMER CHILDRENS HOSPITAL " . THAT IS WHERE THE CF CLINIC FOLKS GO .THE ACTUAL CLINIC IS AT " NEMOURS " ACROSS THE STREET......... Almost all the staff there are also with the CF Center.that is who you would see. They have plenty of staff too. DON'T go to CELEBRATION Hospital for CF. it isnt that much further to the city . Go I-4 straight there. There is an exit clearly marked for the hospital .It is also next to the ORMC larger regional hos[ital & the states critical care emergency unit .. So you will be in excellent hands. Have a blast!!
