Guest guest
All, I spoke with the Conference Center Hotel. There was some confusion about the room availability. They have tons of rooms available. What they don't have is the Symposium registered. Therefore if you say anything about the Symposium they will say they don't have anything open or booked for that. I have to go pay for the conference and sign the contract before it is considered 'on.' What they do is block off rooms for the event. These rooms are at a discounted rate. I have to pay for those ahead of time to reserve them, which I cannot do, however. Amber, who I work with, was out today. I will talk to her and get more information tomorrow. So what you can do for now is just call them and tell them you want to book a room. If they ask you what you are there for say a meeting at the hospital. I' let you know more tomorrow. The agenda will be posted soon. The hours are Thursday and Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm. The first day are sessions on: General Pancreatitis 101 to advanced Pancreatitis, pathophysiology, disease process, diagnostic tools and interpretation by IU ERCP Dept. Dr. Fogel Dr. McHenry. Diet and nutritional considerations / tube feedings / TPN But, what do we really eat? Registered Dietitian / Nutritionist PsychoSocial Issues / Grief / Anger Panel w/ Hospital Chaplain, Parish Nurse, Psychotherapist Friday Long term endocrine and exocrine complications of Pancreatitis: focus the eye, Dr. Springier Pancreatitis pain management, Dr. Neal Irick Auto Islet Cell Transplantation: A Cure for Pancreatic Induced Diabetes, Dr. Sutherland Panel Discussion with Transplant Recipients. The sessions are 75 minutes each. There will be amble break time. We have received fun items for a raffles throughout the two day event. I recommend you try and arrive the night before so you won't be late for the opening session. I had a list of people who volunteered to help, it got misplaced. Would you please email me and let me know if you had offered to help. There are a bunch of things to do. Thanks. Karyn E. , RN Exec.
