Guest guest
>>Read the quote below. A thought could be that it's not because you are necessarily hypoglycemic but because, in the middle of the night, it's been a while since your last meal. http://www.aafp.org/afp/20030301/1019.html http://www.diabetesselfmanagement.com/article.cfm?aid=398 & sid=6 In people with Type 1 diabetes, this balance is harder to maintain since the pancreas no longer secretes insulin. Instead, a person must inject just enough insulin--but not too much--before bedtime to maintain a normal nighttime blood glucose level. " Hope this helps a little. Jill Jill and , When I saw my GI yesterday and told him about the night sweats, he ordered a complete CBC, also a metabolic screening, in addition to an amylase and lipase blood check. I was impressed on how thorough this physican is. Also set me up for new CT-scans of the chest and abdomen for next week. I did the bloodwork today. Seems he plans to leave no stones uncovered. My insulin has been adjusted to what appears to be a perfect level for me now. I do inject it right before bedtime, but then always have a snack afterward, mainly to avoid night time hypo's, which I do have a problem with SOMETIMES. The thing is, I've been checking my BG every night when this happens, and most times it is normal, around 94, or even sometimes as high as 138....yet still I sweat. That's why it's so confusing. And excessive exercise can be eliminated, too. The most strenuous thing I do is watch TV, do a little computer work or read in bed before turning out the light (sigh). All my exercise or " frolicing " ......hahaha..... is in the morning. I've also gotten in the habit now of taking my temperature at least once daily, my GI wants me to do this, just to be cautious about the pseudocyst situation, and I've not had any significant rise in temp in three months. One day I felt sorta lousy, and it was 99.6, but that only lasted for a few hours and then it was back to its normal low range of 97.8. So we're still investigating this. Maybe this new bloodwork will turn something up. Jill, both those sites you posted were excellent resource sites, and I'd never seen either one before. I do a lot of surfing, and somehow missed those! Thank you so much for posting them. I've got them both bookmarked and plan to use them for other information searches. Thanks, both of you, for your suggestions. I'll keep investigating this until we find the answer. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SE, SW Regional Rep PAI, Intl.
