I had a panc attack and landed in the ER yesterday and even though I

had pain on the left I had more pain on the right and in the middle.

When I asked the doc about it she said the pancreas curves up under

the rib cage on the left and across the middle and on over to the

right almost in a curve with the liver...I would not have guessed it

as I too always thought the pancreas was on theleft but that was

certainly where my pain was...at least I was believed ! My A/L levels

are always normal since my triglycerides are so high when I have a

panc attack. Wishing all a pain free day.... Jeannine

Jeannine,

So sorry to hear about your ER visit, but good to know it was

brief. Yes, your doctor's description of how the pancreas is

positioned in our abdomen is accurate. In the earlier days my

pain was always on the left, until the pseudocyst in the head

began growing again, causing the right and middle sided pains.

When I complained to my old GI, he said it was only referred

pain....hahaha....NOT!.....then we found the enlarged pseudocyst

in the head, which on me is to the right of my navel.

I hope you are feeling better today, Jeannine. Take it easy and

rest well.

With hope and prayers,

Heidi
