Guest guest
Heidi, Good lord, it doesn't stop, does it. You, like Kimber, are meticulous in making sure whose on first, what on second, etc. I remember your posts following the tests. It is like the twilight zone. You are such an incredible woman of strength, though, even when you feel like you are pulling your hair out. I hope you don't pull out too much (my is falling out again). I will be eager to see how all this turns out, and if the cysts turns up in his report somewhere??? When you said, " These procedures are always more than $5,000 " it really touched a nerve. Even as a nurse, I have a problem charging patients for a procedure I have to do twice because the first one failed. Take an IV, for instance, I realize there are contributing circumstances which cause some people to be " stuck " twice, but there are some nurses who are careless and contaminate the needle, etc. We pay for those mistakes on our bill. But, the big ones, like CT scans, USs, MRCPs, etc. that can really eat into our lifetime maximum. Living with a chronic illness, like Pancreatitis, I quickly became aware of the incidental medical costs. (There was a long thread about this a few months ago) There are some medical tests that are only authorized every so often..no matter what. It is just disturbing that we have to take on the this additional burden. There is no other profession like medicine (that's for sure). In most cases where there was an error in the delivery of services, whether it was reading surveying measurements, constructions, even restaurants...the consumer received the services again on behalf of the provider. It does open the door to much controversy in the field of medical ethics.
