Guest guest
My endocrinologist thinks that Norma Kennedy Plourde's page, as I have told her is highly informative, easy to read and understand. However, my endocrinologist does not think that the 90-day blood test is of much use in true CFRD, unless one has inherited true Type II Diabetes independently of CF, which is a possibility. He has tons of theories. All I care about is that he does right by me and my friends who go to him also. I surely do spend a lot of time testing my sugars and am extremely compliant, which is very important as I also have hypoglycemia and must control that as well. It is often a precursor to CFRD or to Type II Diabetes (which my eldest sister had). It is also true that either infection and/or the use of corticosteroids can really raise those sugars--which is one reason why I am now on Copaxone for Multiple Sclerosis--or multiple surprises, as I experience it. Not having to treat it with prednisone, dexomethosone, salumedrol, etc. is very help ful and it is easier to balance my sugars. In my opinion, the gradual ap pearance of hypoglycemia and/or hyperglycemia is certainly not the worst thing that can happen to us. It is just another CHALLENGE. That's it; I will go to bed now! Love to all at the above named lists, n Rojas
