Guest guest
Dear Dr. Beall, Now that it's history, I write to tell you that this year's Great Stides Walk was nothing short of an absolute DISGRACE to all of the families that deal with CF daily and the support groups that work so diligently to raise funds for CF research. This year's walk in Ridgewood, New Jersey was an absolute ABOMINATION!! The signage leading to the walk was ridiculous, check in was extremely harried and no DJ at max volume could make it better or more tolerable. The ONE rep from the Northern NJ Chapter of the Foundation ( Goldman), obviously wanted nothing more than to collect the funds " that National needed " and move on to enjoy the rest of her day. She was rude and curt: not only to me and my Husband, but she was condescending and downright nasty to another Team's walker that needed a matching gift receipt. I am positively disgusted by the fact that your people involved in the Walk have no respect or appreciation for what we, the parents of kids with CF go through EVERY SINGLE DAY and how VERY MUCH this fundraiser REALLY means for us and our kids didn't care about. I am DONE with the Northern New Jersey Chapter! Robin, please call with anything inspirational - calll me o my cell ()
Guest guest
I am so very sorry this has your walk experience. I come from Northern NJ, so it is very disturbing to me that this is how the CFF handles their " special day " . It is a shame. I worry that perhaps my friends and family back there had similar experiences and will not want to walk for us anymore. I invite you next year to come to Colorado Springs for the BEST Great Strides Walk in the world! Just kidding. I hope this letter makes a big difference. You deserve much more. I am very happy you wrote it. We MUST speak up for ourselves! Thank you for doing the walk. I hope it gets much better for you. Guest guest
I attended Great Strides at Rye Playland in NY. I am so disappointed to hear that Ridgewood was so bad. Rye was very well run. High turn out. Someone said that there was over 1000 walkers. The day was great and the lunch from Outback Steak House was a treat. Maybe you should take the ride up to Westchester next year.
