Has any one had or know any body who has had a sphincteroplasty?

Im glad the antidep's help you. I am still having a lot of

post op pain; which I expected; and pancreatic pain which I had not

expected. I guess I am a very impatient patient; it hasn't even

been 2 weeks.

Thanks for all your info .

Hi ,

I understand your post op pain. After my sphincteroplasty I too was

extremely sore......but be patient, after 4 weeks I was back at work

as a physical education teacher. My appetite was off a bit because

my pancreas was aching. Remember, they had to move around a few

organs to get to it since the ducts and pancreas lie next to the

spinal cord. But then the pain and soreness disappeared. Plan on a

good 6-8 weeks until you begin to feel normal again. It takes time,

and I believe you made the right decision in having the surgery.

Even though I still suffer from CP, the attacks are not as crippling

as before and they are getting farther apart, I am glad I had the

sphincteroplasty a year ago, because I would always wonder " what if "

had I not gone through with it. Best of luck to you!
