Hi,

When we found out that our son had CF both my husbands brothers were tested.

Then when they found out one of them was a carrier that brother's wife got

tested. The other wife never got tested because there was no chance for the

children to have CF.

It didn't pay for both husband and wife to get tested if the husband wasn't a

carrier. It did help to know what mutation becuase they knew what they were

looking for. I think it made the results come back quicker.

Hope this helps.

Mom to Josh 9 wcf and 4 nocf but wants to do therapy for

his brother.

Hi,

My sister in law and her hubby are considering getting tested to find out if

they are carriers for CF, since her niece, our daughter has CF. I told her that

her ob/gyn could send her to a genetic councilor. Any other suggestions?

Would a CFF approved CF center do this kind of test, too? Would they need to

know what mutations our daughter has? I'm embarrassed to say I am not even sure

what mutations she has. Any help would be great. Thanks. I just want to tell

her the right thing

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I'll be sending all the info I get on to my sister-in-law.

Her hubby has the same kind of ethnic background as I do (Irish).
