Guest guest
Hey : I am so sorry you feel so bad. My question is about this Internist. Why can't he do something because you don't have elevated enzymes. The man knows you have chronic pancreatitis correct? He can treat it as such, screw the normal enzymes! We all have them. Also, with an attack, the enzymes sometimes don't elevate for up to 24 hours or mildly elevate and then go off the charts hours later. When will these docs learn this? Also, the GI doc needs realize it does not matter how you got the disease to begin with he needs to treat it like any other. Geeze this infuriates me. It does not matter whether the disease was caused by sphincter of Oddi dysfunction, gallbladder, CF or if somebody is falling down drunk, its pancreatitis and it feels the same for crying out loud!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It needs to be treated as such. I don't know anything about the docs up there anymore. I am originally from Michigan but have been in NC for 18 years. Pontiac/Waterford area to be exact. What are they trying to do to treat the nausea. What have they done for the sphincter of Oddi? I had symptoms like you describe with pain and I always felt like if I could go to the bathroom it would stop the pain. I think the sphincter spasm and bowel spasm are related. I would always get constipated. I even had the idiots at the hospital give me an enema one time before this stuff was diagnosed. It didn't work and I stil/l hurt and they sent me home. Sphincter spasm is horrible and many times I have called it the " pain from the sky " that comes from nowhere for no reason. The last stent I had finally settled the spasm down but nothing can be done for the damage to the pancreas. I guess my real question is has the SOD been addressed seriously. SOD and pancreatitis are two separate disorders and the SOD is causing the pancreatitis and damaging it. The SOD is what has to be addressed seriously also before anymore damage is done to that pancreas. As I am not sure what has been done, I don't know how to advise you. Let me know the specifics ok? Take care. By the way, where in Michigan are you from? Kaye
