Guest guest Posted June 20, 2003 Report Share Posted June 20, 2003 Good news everyone, I am now officially off of MS Contin and am now taking Methadone 4 times a day. While it still is wholely unsuccessful in it's attempts at managing my pain, it has finally started to work better than the MS Contin had been doing over the past year or so. I was taking this morphine product for over 4 years and, I felt it had started to lose it's potency. I did not want to fall into the trap of increasing the dosage in order to improve my pain relief as I felt that the amount of time on this particular drug had casused the drug to become pretty ineffective. I also tried the fentynol patches (Duragesic) but it too did not offer enough relief for me to function somewhat normally. While it's been some time since last I posted, I do want you guys to know that I have been reading the posts and keeping up with everyone in this " family " . And, just like any other family, we too have had our little internal " fights " . The important thing is to remember that we are all in pretty much the same situation and need to be supportive of each other. I don't know about you guys, but I find this to be the only venue I can successfully get my feelings out without fear of recrimination. It would truly be unfortunate if we continued to let these " petty squabbles " interfere with our mission- to inform, educate, and advocate on everone's behalf. This is just my " 2 cents " worth...
