Guest guest
Thanks Donna!! I saw Dr. Kaikaus today and fortunately I took a copy of my ERCP from last year. My other GI did not send a copy. Of course he started questioning me about the pain and told me all my labs were normal blah blah blah....I asked him if he had a copy of the ERCP and he didn't. Well after he read the results his questioning changed real quick. He increased my enzymes from 1 3x's a day to 3 before each meal and 2 with snacks. He is scheduling me for a EUS on 10/14/03. So I will have to get back to you after the test. The GI did mention stents but my husband and I have almost decided not to do it. It sounds like it is only a temporary fix and I'm not sure it is worth it. Take care, Patty Jensen, Lousiville, kY
Guest guest
Hi Patty, I read your post on your visit and stents. I just wanted to say that I last had stents put in and taken out in March & April of 2002. Since then I have not been to the ER once. I have found life a bit easier as far as pain and it doesn't last as long as before the stents. Am I an advicate for stents...NO! I hate the hospital, I hate the hospital stay after the surgery as I always have an attack afterward. I know that I will have to have stents again someday too. I am saying that they did help reduce the amount of pain I was and am in everyday. But I have a young son and I don't intend to be away from him that often just to be free from pain. I was in the hospital 3 times in 2 months for the surgery. But it has been more than 1 1/2 years since the stents and I haven't been back to the ER. While I agree it's nothing more than a temporary fix, it did help me.
