Guest guest
I still think the average ssdi, ssa, or ssi and or combination with insurance of between $330.00 per month and $805 per month national average means that the average disabled single adult with chronic ill ness, even if a genius budgeter, cannot afford to buy food. especially in the all but two states which require share-of-cost and co-pays is far less than anyone in the other industrialized countries puts up with. I also know from professional experience that the mentally ill often go undiagnosed, do not get disability and live on under $50.00 a month-- and we wonder why they are on the street? Someone else began this train of thought and I think that there are a variety of circumstances that are liveable with, but I do know many with cf who live alone (not me) who cannot afford to buy much food and are having medical complications as a result. And, to add to all the cheer, all to many have died because of this. I am lucky; relatives, friends, nearby cousins would never let me starve or go without the basic needs unmet, but for many, especially in the mid-west, it is pathetic. Besides, I am just too old to run for Congress, although apparently not too old to run for President! Cheers! n Rojas
