Guest guest
Hey guys, I just got back from the store. I guess I did good, I did get the standardized St. s Wort. I also got a bottle of One a Day- Womans vitamins. I hope I took them right. It says 1 vitamin a day and 2 tabs of St. s, 3 times a day. I couldn't remember what all the vitamins were, so I figured this was a good start. Does anyone know if any of these vitamins and stuff can interact with each other? I was looking at the Ginko Baloba (sp?) while I was there, but I didn't want to over do it, not knowing if they could effect each other. I definately have memory problems. (Possibly from stress?) I can be mid-sentence and forget what I was saying. My boys love it when I holler at them and I have to start going down the list of names until I get the right one. I personally just thought it was the onset of alsheimers or something. But, I guess from what I am hearing, stress can effect you in alot of ways. So, what do you think. Get that too? I just don't want to over do it, not knowing what I am doing. I am paranoid of meds (you can probably tell). I just don't have good reactions with them. When I had surgery, I was given hydracodone(sp?) . I took one and it relaxed me so much that I went to sleep. But, the kicker was I was so relaxed I guess I forgot to breath. I tried one other time, taking only 1/2 of a pill and it did the same thing. I have been put on different ones, but every one of them do about the same thing. So, now I just suffer through things for fear of it happening again. Seeings how you all know alot about this stuff, do any of you have IBS or ulcers? I was diagnosed with an ulcer and IBS awhile back. They put me through all the tests to check for cancer, etc.... Nothing was found. They said I am worrying myself to the point that is effecting my health. I take ranitidine when my ulcer acts up. But, is there anything I can do for the irritable bowel syndrome thing? It seems like when I get upset, sad or anything like that it hurts like * & %. It takes about 2-3 days to get back to normal. I have tried to cut out most of the caffiene. Maybe there is something herbal or something? Just wondering. Well, I guess I will close for now and make myself get up and do something. It seems that I do better when I am busy and I dont give myself time to sit and think. I guess we will give it some time and see what happens. Thanks guys. Guest guest
Vondie, Keep on keeping on. I know how you feel. I am the cheerer of cheerer¡¯s around other people, always in a good mood and keep everyone¡¯s spirits up, but sometimes I wonder¡¦¡¦¡¦. There is only so much that a person can take, I have always believed that God will only give you as much as you can handle, but sometimes I think he gives you the wisdom to know when enough is enough and you might need a little help in the handling department. Having two children with CF is enough stress in itself, am I doing the right thing, did they take their medicine, did I already reset the vest once or twice or did they turn it to fool me? Having a full time plus job doesn¡¯t make matters any easier, but I do have a very loving and helpful husband that is always there for me when I need him. Keep us posted over the next few weeks and let us know if your herbal ¡°cocktail¡± works for you! Guest guest
Vondie, I hope you got the One-A-Day vitamins PLUS minerals. Without minerals... well, that's like putting gas in your car but forgetting the oil, brake fluid, etc. Oh, p.s. St. 's Wort (at high dose) can cause sun sensitivity in some people... so until you know how you react to it, don't forget sunscreen. If you want to check out vitamin, mineral, herbal, RX interactions then check out http://www.healthwell.com and for more RX info, go to http://www.rxlist.com Kim > Hey guys, > I just got back from the store. Guest guest
Vondie, The only advice I can give you is to take one change at a time. Try one new thing for several weeks before adding something or trying to treat another problem. This is because you can actually track the one symptom and tried treatment and see if it works. If you do all of it as once (treat IBS, depression, etc.) you won't know what - if anything - is helping. Try to keep a journal, even if it is just scribbles on a calendar.
