But I have always heard even if it is not painful the acid that comes back up with it is causing damage to the esophagus. My youngest will sometimes comes to me and tells me that her supper came back up and she had to swallow it. Guest guest Posted April 23, 2003 Report Share Posted April 23, 2003 Talk to the doc about it. Reflux is not at all uncommon with kids with CF. If you burp and can taste you last meal that is reflux, if it comes up that is reflux. It happens to most people once in a while but if it happens often it should be medicated to avoid complications.
