Like the subject line says.......... When it Rains it Pours. Let's see, where to

begin. At the beginning of course. Last Monday my husband's brother in law got

in an accident with his motorcycle and has three plates in his leg on his tibia.

Tuesday night my husband's aunt passed away, she had been battling cancer for

years. Thursday we find out has allergies and has to have sinus surgery

again. And to the big story......

I had just picked up Brenna from school and we were going to karate. We had just

turned off our old street and, I was traveling north and getting ready to cross

a major road. I was going about 20-25mph and had the green light. Out of the

corner of my eye I see this white car FLYING towards me. I put on my brakes and

did some evasive maneuvers to avoid the inevitable. She hit my front driver's

side tire and drug me into opposing traffic. I hit another car, not bad, and her

car spun around and hit the rear bumper with her rear passenger side by the

tire. Talk about scared to death. My first priority was the kids and I couldn't

get my door open so I climbed over the back seat. We have a Suburban and I had

half the middle seat folded down. Brenna was sitting by the door in the middle

seat by the door. was in the very back seat in the middle in his

carseat. We were all crying and just shaking so bad. I have never been in a

situation like this and to tell you the truth I am in NO hurry to do it again.

Thankfully we had a lot of witnesses. She was cited for running the red light.

Her car is totaled and chances are they will total ours. our front tire looked

just like this slash / that angle too. We were leaking antifreeze and the

floorboard under my feet was buckled. The girl of the other car was 17 and it

was her mother's car. She was the only passenger and her car looks terrible. The

car I hit when she pushed me has some damage but not anything that can't be

fixed. My right front bumper hit his left front bumper and busted his headlight

and dented the car a bit. He was fine and by best witness. About twenty people

were on their cell phones right away and one was a fireman and the other a

nurse. We are thankfully doing fine. Brenna has an abrasion from the seatbelt

and a sore knee. said his shoulder was sore. I have whiplash and

bruises on my right side and a sore right arm. The girl in the other car, it was

a Pontiac Grand Prix 4-door, says she was only going 30, which is the posted

speed, but my husband and I figure she was going at least 40-45 since she drug

the suburban at least 30 feet.

So as you can see, quite the exciting week around here and not one I want to

repeat. We were looking at getting another car, but this is definitely not the

way we wanted to go about it. Brenna doesn't realize the seriousness of what

happened, she is just too carefree to realize it. on the other hand is

having a harder time dealing with it. He keeps asking why it happened and when

is the car coming home. I'm taking it ok, I keep seeing it over and over and

hearing it. But we will all get through this. It's just one more test of our

sanity and strength of our family.

Dear Heaven .

I am so sorry to hear such a horrible thing to happen . BUT. I am so

thrilled that you all are alright & also the others. That whiplash isn't

anything that is going to go way any too soon. So, don't sign anything

.........I am sure your insurance company said the same thing. Keep a

copy of all paper work-EVEN IF THEY SAY YOU DON'T NEED IT .GET IT !!,I

have heard that before. So bless your heart . I will hold you all in my

special wishes.............. & ask all my friends to do the same.......

Thank GOD you are all okay!!!! I have been in a couple car accidents--none

my fault (so far--knock on wood!)--and it is SOOOO scary!!! I still am

afraid of curves after my best friend was going around a curve just a little

bit too fast (only going about 25-30, but it was an old dirt road) and

caught the dirt on the shoulder and we spun and flipped over. And that was

13 years ago!! My thoughts are with you guys, and I am very relieved you

are okay. I am also glad your BIL is ok!! Motorcycles are lots of fun, but

they scare me (and I was raised on and around them--Harleys!). So sorry to

hear about your aunt--I lost my grandmother 2-1/2 months ago, and I am still

so sad when I think about her.

Cody has lots of sinus problems, too. I think he's getting close

again--he's having the old familiar dark circles under his eyes and

headaches again. If so, this will be his 9th sinus surgery. Poor little

guys!! I hope starts feeling better soon!

I was in a less serious car accident with in the car. She was an infant

and had just fallen asleep in the car seat. I was driving along behind a big

lawn care truck (one of those open ones with lawn mowers and stuff in the back)

and keeping my eye on the light we were coming up on. the light turned red and

I slowed down and so did the truck. I was trying to keep a safe distance

between myself and the truck because I am always afraid something is not secured

and it'll fly out and crash into my window or something when I'm behind them.

Anyway I was being really careful. Unfortunately the teen behind the wheel of

some kind of large heavy tank-like car wasn't even paying attention. At the

last minute she slammed on the breaks and wouldn't have hit me if no one was

behind her but it was 5:15 pm so.... It ended up being a four car and one

gardener's truck accident. the last car was totaled, the 3rd car may have been

fixable, the teen's car was pretty well dinged up, our car had just a dent and I

tapped the bumper of the truck ahead of me. Everyone was OK but it was very

scary. I'm glad you are all ok.
