Guest guest
Hi, After reading many many posts, most if not everyone seems to have their attacks due to food. I have told all the doctors that I have ever seen for this, that all of my attacks have started on an empty stomach..if I ever feel hungry, or empty inside, whammo, the pain will hit me like a ton of bricks. Then when an attack is in progress, if I drink or eat anything, it skyrockets even more. The doctors always tell me pancreatitis only happens when people have been eating, but with me that is not the case... They found that my pancreatic duct was closed at the papilla due to scar tissue from a surgery to correct my pancreatitis and remove a polyp there, and this has been the cause of my attacks, but even with a stent in place, (upside down so it won't fall out like a temporary one), I still have attacks, although not as severe as they have been before the stent. I also find that if I drink any kind of soda, whoaaa..it puts my pancreas into spasms and can also bring on an attack..is this a normal thing? it only started doing this with drink about 12 months ago, the same with taking tablets..if a tablet is say a bit bigger than the usual capsule size, it can have me rolling on the floor in agony a minute after taking it..so maybe I am abnormal..which wouldn't surprise me *laugh*
