Guest guest
I am not able to check emails as often as I usually do but saw that you had joined the list and thought since I also live in Florida I should say hello. My six-year-old daughter has CF, and I also have two other children. We live in Tallahassee but go to the clinic in Atlanta 'cause it is so fantastic. I hope you are happy with the care in ville. I have always thought it would be harder to have an " older " child diagnosed with CF than one at birth. My daughter was about six weeks old when we found out she had CF, so basically it is all we have known for her as far as her health. It is probably all we thought about for her first year. We still think about CF now, but not as much because we are busy thinking about where her ballet shoes are, and whether to let her audition for the gymnastics team and what time she has choir practice and on and on with all of her normal activities. She is active, happy, funny, cute, smart and basically very healthy. Hang in there. It does get better. And worse. And better again, and worse and better---but I promise you, that one day, you will actually go for hours without thinking about CF. It becomes a part of your " normal " life and you will be in control rather than the feelings right now that it controls you and your son's life. Lori in Florida grosehsd@... Guest guest
Christal, Yes she is 50% on the weight chart, but for a long time she was 75%. Her height is still 70%. I saw a x-mas photo of her with Santa from 2001, and she a chubby faced thing then. Now she is a lean, mean fighting machine! (Australia) W > > Elisjah is about 42 lbs. how old is she? I am not sure on her height but I think it is appx. 3 ft. 6in. I can not recall how tall you said she was I believe it was 110cm? Any that seems so small but then I consider the fact that I have a healthy 6 yo who is 48+ pounds and almost 4 feet tall. Then I look at my 2yo who doesn't eat and has CF and reliexe that he is very tiny (27lbs, and 2ft. 9in.) His baby sister at 4 months is 11lbs and 26in long. She will easily be bigger than him by 1 yo. But I believe as long as your daughter is staying on the growth chart (do they use that there) than she is ok. christal mom of Tristan 6yoncf, Zack 2wcf, Ki'a 4mths ncf
