If she is still spiking a temperature after the pneumonia has resolved, this

can be a sign of complications such as empyema, get it checked out, and

maybe they'll do another xray to make sure she is clear. Never ignore a

spiking temperature!

Dear All,

Sharada is back home after 17 days. This was the testing time for all of

us.Initially when her ped. detected pneumonia in her right lung, doctors

thought and we also it is PA again. So they immediately started with

Ceftazidime and Gentamycin IV and Tobramycin Nebulizer before they got

sputum culture result. Surprisingly the sputum culture indicated no PA. Her

blood reports were normal. And no clue of any bacterial infection. This was

a point when we started worrying. As they could not isolate the bacteria,

the treatment was uncertain. Finally the pneumonia was identified in a blood

test. It was Mycoplasma Pneumonia. Sharada started responding to

Clarithromycin and her fever dropped down. After monitoring for 4 days

without fever doctor finally decided to let her go home and advised us to

give her good rest, no school immediately.

Sharada is fine now. She celebrated her 6th birthday yesterday.

Thanks to u all for your support. I will keep in touch....

normally at late afternoon. It comes down after 5ml Paracetamol. It is 9th

clear (thanks to god). Can the fever be aftermath of the infection?
