Hi Keri,

Welcome! I just read your post & its like reading my own life in

some ways! I'm so sorry you have to suffer so much like you do. I

have pain 100% of my life. You are right, the meds do make me

drowsey, but yet I can't sleep, just like tonight. I've diffently

got my mom's money out of this computer! Only my pain is on the

right

side, and it shoots to my back. I have a med-a-port & I'm lucky

enough to be able to stay home with my daughters when the flair- ups

are severe. I have home health care nurses come in. The only thing

is it take twice as long to get over it then it would if I was in the

hospital. Sometimes I wish they would just admit me & be done with

it! My 21 year marriage ended due to this wonderful disease. And

like

you, I too am over weight. I just don't understand it either! Even

when I go days unable to eat, I only loose a few pounds. I keep

blaming it on my thyroid disease, but I don't think that has anything

to do with it. I'm just so frustrated with the whole thing! Yes,

your story does sound very familiar. I'm on MS Contin 60mg twice a

day, and stadol nasal spray for breakthrough pain, which I have to

use it alot more then I should!

Again, welcome, and please keep us posted on how you are doing, ok?

Thanks!

Lots of Hugs,

Keri,

I'm also overweight and have been through the years I've

been dealing with pancreatitis. And yeah, my family tends to

be overweight as well (the females at least). I've had to

finally stop working. The pain medications were affecting my

ability to think and concentrate. I was exhausted all the

time and I have problems with eating periodically as well as

have pain 24/7 and am on pain meds to help regulate that.

I'm diabetic and have multiple health problems, some not

related to the pancreatitis. And even though I'm getting

plenty of rest now that I'm not working, I tire easily and

take at least one nap a day.
