I am also guardian and grandmother to 11 year old Austin, who has lived with us since birth. My son, Austin's father, has custody, but is divorced/single, and flies on extended missions overseas so much with the Air Force that we chose to help out by raising Austin. However, that should be a " slam dunk " as if you are guardian and get SSDI then the minor should qualify also. It depends on whether you are sole guardian or there is a joint guardianship.
