Guest guest
Hello again Marcy, I also managed without enzymes for a very long time. Actually, I only got my diagnosis earlier this year (I'm 57), having had symptoms of one kind or another all my life. If the problems escalate, then you know the enzymes are there for you. You'll probably work out a good diet for yourself in the meantime. I have to say that Mark's library, which Heidi gave you the link for, was an absolute godsend to me in the early days after my diagnosis, and I still go back to it regularly. The reason I mentioned the hereditary pancreatitis section was because I sensed you were worried about that possibility. Actually, the medical treatment for chronic pancreatitis, which Heidi outlined so ably, is the same anyway, whether it is hereditary, caused by something else or if the cause is unknown. Every case is different and develops at a different rate and in different ways; that's true of CP, whatever the cause, I think. Some people do find specific foods which may trigger attacks. My CP is quite far advanced but I can eat red meat ....not that I do very often....but quite a lot of people with CP find that they can't. Good luck and best wishes for your health.
