Guest guest
That is what I thought too. He has a 1 year old that I would think he would like to know if he is a carrier. Plus I want to play it safe. Christal Mom of Tristan 6ncf, Zack 2wcf and Ki'a 4monthscf?
Guest guest
If it were my child, I would test him. That way you know 100% sure and he would know if he was a carrier. If he has children in the future, it would be good to know if he carries the CF gene. My 2 cents.

Guest guest
Given that both me and my sis happened to marry a carrier, as well as a first cousin marrying a carrier, then my sister's hubby's brother married a carrier, and all resulted in cf children in this generation, seems like the odds could be just as good your ex is a carrier. personally, if it were my kid, I would get the test. why not, its painless.... Guest guest
Christal, My daughter whose 5 1/2 is also from a previous relationship and we did have her tested. Her sweat test came back normal and I plan to have her carrier tested when she gets older. She too has a lot of respiratory problems and was diagnosed with Asthma. As a matter of fact she has more breathing problems than so far! Take care!
