Guest guest
Hi Tonya, I have pain in my chest on left side and around to my back also is in left shoulder and neck area and sometimes radiates down my left arm. There has been a number of times that I have felt I was having a heart attack. I have also read posts from others that have said they thought they were having a heart attack later to find it was pancreatitis. I have had my heart checked out and it is fine. I am also having a hard time getting a CP diagnosis.....I have been having trouble off and on for 10 years but for the last year the trouble has been growing steadily worse....and am currently under going a bunch of tests once again......I understand totally how you feel. But back to the topic at hand I feel that the pain you are having in the chest is not your heart. Especially since it is made worse with eating..etc... I hope you find out soon what is going on with your health. I also believe that quite often we know our bodies and what is going on much better than any doctor. I am sorry you are going through this. My prayers are with you. Warmest wishes
Guest guest
Dear Tonya, I'd have to agree with what already said. My pain has always been on my left, under the breastline, and it radiates through to the left back and left shoulder blade. I, too, have scoliosis, but mine is in my upper spine near my neck and it hasn't been the cause of this pain. It's the chronic pancreatitis that's caused the pain. The positioning of my pancreas is such that the pain that is located just to the left of my sternum is actually pain from the head of my pancreas. The tail is located at my navel. This " S " shaped positioning is not what you see in the medical diagrams, but I was told by a radiologist that everyone is different, and this placement, which differs from the pictures in medical books, is acutally not that usual. So if these new tests you're having done still don't show what your doctor is looking for, don't give up....keep searching for the answer to explain this pain. The fact that it bothers you after eating still seems suspect of pancreas related problems. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep. PAI, Intl.
