Guest guest
Welcome to the group, however I am sorry for the circumstances. I have not any of the surgeries so I cannot be of help on that account however I know quite a few people in the group have and I am sure they will be responding to your questions. I would think the most important thing right is that he is being treated and under the watchful eye of the hospital staff. The pain can be very intense and the pain meds may know him out but consider it a blessing that he is not hurting so bad. My husband also lives in fear of what will happen to me (this has caused some strain in our marraige, because he cannot talk about his feelings very easily) He worries that I will not be around for our two small children (ages 3 and 5) but all I can say is I AM NOT DYING TODAY!!! Try to be strong for him he will need that, also try to be a supportive partner in his recovery. The recovery will be long and may put alot strain on your relationship (and finances), but if stick it out your relationship will stronger in the end. I am curious how did they determine the amount of damage? What test have they done? Try to remember that the drainage tube may look horrible but it there to help him and to rest his pancrease which will help to ease his pain and prevent more damage. Also you go the stories of other people here in the group and you will see that most of us DO NOT drink. I know the drs. will automatically asume that you must be a drinker if you have the disease. There are many causes of this disease, not only drinking. Okay I am rambling so I should go. Please feel free to post your questions and even if you just need some one to talk to or to vent we are here for you.
