We just returned from Ashton's GI appt and this new doc (we just

moved to Kansas) told us that Peptamen Jr is so predigested that we

shouldn't need any enzymes. I just hooked him up to the g-tube and

for the first time in his life, he didn't get any enzymes. Weird.

Has anyone used Peptamen Jr without enzymes? We have to keep a close

eye on his stools and weight gain. It sure would be nice to not have

to give enzymes!!

, this new doctor may be confusing Peptamen Jr. with

Pregestimil (or possibly Tolerex) which is " predigested " . That is

definitely NOT the case with Peptamen Jr. which has a high fat

content and which would be dangerous to give without enzymes. My

four y/o daughter is tube-fed Peptamen Jr. and gets four Creon 10's

with each 300 ml. bolus. I am afraid you are probably going to

see " floaters " pretty quickly with no enzymes! Check with a cf

doctor or dietician.
