Bert,

Once again, thank you for sharing your candid and sensitive

thoughts regarding your pancretectomy with auto islet transfer.

Your reasons for electing to have this surgery are so justifiable

and yet we know it was a decision that required much initial soul

searching and deliberation. A twelve hour surgery with

multi-organ removal is such a serious procedure that many

people might back off, but you have shown us your motivation to

go through with it and emerge in better health.

You speak of your goals to live a better life without pain, whole

and happy, and certainly you deserve to do so. Do you mind

telling us how old you are?

Your story gives everyone hope, I'm so glad you share it so freely.
