Guest guest
Diane: I hope you are doing ok...sounds like you definitely have the right attitude to deal with this in the best way possible..and after all God IS in charge, even though sometimes I do ask... " where are YOU? " I also related to the statement of bad choices. In relation to that I had made some bad choices and took some extra medication along the way trying to take care of an acute attack at home, and towards the end ran out of medication. I tried to make it through, but the pain became terrible. My husband was away, I felt so alone. I had to call an ambulance, but had the sense to call my PCP before going. Turned out that was probably not in my best interest, because the doctor treating me asked how much oxycontin I had taken that day, and when I told her what had happened, she said well then " no wonder your pain in bad. " She said she couldn't really do anything to help me. But offered to give me some phenergan, benedryl (??don't know why) and toridol. This did no good, so she gave me a small shot of demerol. It helped some, but not much. But she discharged me, and said she couldn't do anything else, and that I should go to the pain specialist in the morning. I walked home from the hospital. I was so humiliated. I will work on not making any future bad choices, but sometimes it hard. Anyway, the pain specialist appointment didn't go much better. I am doing much better now, but no thanks to my local hospital. Next time, I will request or get someone to drive me to a different hospital located around 30 miles away. But if I will be treated like a human being...it will be worth the trip. Hang in there Diane...Hugs, Robin -------------------------------------------------------- This e-mail and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
