Guest guest
Re -Ward?? Whut Re-Ward??? Did I win a jug o mooonshine??? Aw--shucks! We can really have a hoe-down on my mountain now!!! Heck Farrah, Texas is where I met all those crazy coonasses!!! I live in Houston for 18 years and loved every minute of it. It didn't take me long to learn that I liked living in a " Texas State of Mind " !! That's where I picked up the little bit of Southern Drawl I now have. I never learned words like ain't, hot damn, bullshit until I moved to Texas---and then I learned that in Texas those words are not even wordy dirdies! Guess since you live in Texas now you are part Texan now---that would make you a half-assed coonass! Just kidding! That's what I used to call my step-son---his dad is from Texas and his mom from southern Louisiana. I just love meeting all these wonderful people on this list! Maybe when we retire we can go state to state and country to country and meet each and every one of you! Love to all on our wonderful list! Guest guest
M, Born and Bred a Bama Girl, they transplanted me to Illinois at an early age and left me there long enough to learn to talk---with an Illinois accent. Then they decided to make me into a Southern Belle back in Alabama---unfortunately, one with a Yankee accent! Why I never lost that very definate Chicago accent I will never know! It wasnt until I moved to Texas that I started picking up the Southern Slang. And now I am back in Alabama. I think my heart took root while in Texas. There's a part of me that will always be a Texan. And all that time I lived there --18 years--those Texas born people just called me a " Furiner " ! By now my accent is thoroughly confused!!! Often, it just depends on who I am talking to. North, South, Mid-West---heck I just start sounding like whoever I am talking with! I bet you sound funny to Texans and Southern Californians both! We just keep them guessing, huh? Love, Aunt B

Guest guest
Yeah I do probably sound funny. When ever I go home (Texas is always home to me) the people really sound like hicks. funny huh? except for people in Houston are sort of generic, like here. I think because its so big and people are from everywhere. Ya know what I mean? love,
