Guest guest Posted July 16, 2003 Report Share Posted July 16, 2003 I went back to my original GI today having gone full circle with doctors, and talked to him about Dilaudid being the only pain med that helps to ease my pain. Also, told him that I had been told by a couple of other doctors that Dilaudid can, like Morphine, cause spasms of the Sphincter of Oddi. He said that is true, but in my case, the Sphincter of Oddi was removed when I had my surgery and therefore, it shouldn't affect me like it would someone else. That is a huge load off my shoulders as the other pain meds my other doctors put me on, didn't help with all the pain like the Dilaudid does..
