communication on lists--the largest of groups

I think it is always absolutely astonishing that a list of this size has any

one on it who can communicate with anyone else. In addition to the

variety of languages we have, we also have to cope with English which

is inrinsicly and innately complex, due to its many linguistic/historic

components, many regionalisms, dialects and just plain quirks. I think

that we have achieved a miracle and without that simultaneous transla

tion that they have at the United Nations!!

I always regret it when people leave, but hope that it simply leaves an

opportunity for someone else to join our list. As for communication,

I always thought it was a national miracle that my German-speaking hus

band and Spanish-speaking me managed to get a request for coffee

or tea communicated. Somehow, we managed and, strangely, the kids

speak three languages quite well!

I think that there are few groups who are as supportive as this one.

We are all in mourning over the same losses, in fear of the same war,

and yet have truly common cause together. May we thrive and prosper

thanks to this list and its webmaster and moderators.

Love to all at cfparents,

n Rojas
