through the emergency room without being seen by a doctor first. " I bet a lot

of states probably have that rule. By calling my doctor first, I still have

to go through the ER and be " seen " by a doctor, but I am, not left to try and

defend my position, since my doctor always calls the ER ahead and tells them I

am coming and tells them what to do. They can't argue with me then. (They may

give me that look, though)

Where I live at in Asheville NC the hospital has a rule that if your

doctor has not seen you in the last 24 hours, you can't be admitted

through the emergency room without being seen by a doctor first.

So, you have to go through all of that crap all over again! It just

stinks. What a racket.
