Guest guest
Kaye, You said, " If your doctor has not seen you in the last 24 hours, you can't be admitted through the emergency room without being seen by a doctor first. " I bet a lot of states probably have that rule. By calling my doctor first, I still have to go through the ER and be " seen " by a doctor, but I am, not left to try and defend my position, since my doctor always calls the ER ahead and tells them I am coming and tells them what to do. They can't argue with me then. (They may give me that look, though) Karyn E. , RN, Exec. Guest guest
Where I live at in Asheville NC the hospital has a rule that if your doctor has not seen you in the last 24 hours, you can't be admitted through the emergency room without being seen by a doctor first. So, you have to go through all of that crap all over again! It just stinks. What a racket. Kaye
