Guest guest
I am new to this board but I thought you would find this interesting. I was approved for SSDI in December of 2002 but I had not been receiving my benefits regularly. I have been having to call them and fight with them every month for my monthly payments. The monthly payments would always be late and neddless to say it caused alot of stress for me. My family had gotten to a point where we were eating top ramen for dinner because we were so broke. If the phone rang my heart would jump for fear it was a bill collector. Did Social Security care, NOT!!!! Well last week I spent about 1/2 an hour shooting off my mouth with Social Security. I informed them that I was writting to Congress and the Senate and I was also going to find a local consumer advocate to take up my cause. I then typed my letters and sent copies via fax to my local SS office. Well wouldn't you know it but their " backlog " that they claimed they could do nothing about, suddenly cleared up and when I checked my bank account today the money was there! This included my back payments from December!! Thank the Lord the bills can now be paid! I hope that this might some you. Just write the letters and fax copies to your local SS office that handling your case. Detail everything. The date you filed your claim, the names and dates of everyone you spoke with, ect. Send copies to congress and senate and your local SS office, they don't want the local media to get ahold this information either. Good luck to all of you out there still trying to get your hard earned benfits. Simi Valley, CA
