Guest guest
Pete, yes, I got the message, so it didn't get lost in email limbo. Yes, the antiobotics help as they keep you from getting an infection, which is a complication of acute pancreatitis, and believe me, you don't want an infection in your pancreas. I know the group can be scary when you see what can possibly be in store for you, but the good points outweigh the bad. At least this way you will be somewhat prepared and if these things don't happen to you, you can be happy that they didn't occur. Also, a lot of doctors don't give you the information that you can find on this board. I hate to say this, but there is always the possibility that the pain from the attack won't go away. If this turns out to be the case, you need to get a referral to a pain specialist so that you can work out a schedule of pain meds to help you deal with the pain. Or it may clear up in days, weeks or months from now. Pancreatiti is a very individual disease. How each person experiences it can vary a great deal. Depending upon how much damage was done to the pancreas, you might end up with chronic pancreatitis, though most people don't get that unless they have many multiple attacks. Again, if you need anything please let me know and I'll do what I can to help you. Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@...
