Guest guest
Hello Everyone, Well, I got a letter today concerning my SSI hearing I went to 6 weeks ago. The letter I got from the Admin. Judge says that the decision is Fully Favoriable!!! Can you believe it?!?! BUT not because I have chronic pancreatitits, since none of my blood work support that, they said I was disabled due to.....you ready???? " The claimant has chronic abdominal pain secondary to hypertriglyceridemia that is considered " severe " under Social Security regulations. " Then on another page it says, " The claimant has a long history of abdominal pain secondary to elevated fatty liver acids resulting from hormone treatments due to her history of hysterectomy. The evidence of record documents that the claimant has experienced significant abdominal pain since undergoing a hysterectomy and then subsequently having her gallbladder removed. The evidence demonstrates that, since that time, the claimant's triglycerides, or fatty liver acids, are frequently elevated. The claiment is treated with chronic pain medication and has a medi-port catheter to maintain hydration. " Then later it says.... " Despite several physicians indicating that she has recurrent pancreatitis, the evidence does not show the blood testing results consistent with that disease process. " Then it says, " Dr. Elliott (the impartial doctor at the hearing) states that elevated triglyceride levels cause significant abdominal pain that markedly reduces functional ablilty. He stated that the pain is a side effect of the claimant's hormone replacement therapy secondary to her hysterectomy. He also noted that there are better treatment options available. He noted that the standard hospital treatment for the claimant's symptoms is starvation and that this resolves her symptoms over a few days. However, her symptoms tend to recur quickly once she resumes eating. He stated that her symptoms may resolve if she consulted with a specialist who was familiar with newer treatment regimens that did not result in significantly higher triclyceride levels. He then stated the claimant's condition does cause significant pain and that she is maintained on chronic pain medication that also affects the ability to work. Finally, he stated that, during recurrences of her abdominal pain, she could not sustain work activity. " It also says several places that the case will be considered " open " and it will be reviewed no sooner then 18 months. So, there you have it....please let me know what you think, ok? Thanks! Talk to you soon. Lots of Hugs, P.S. Makes me wonder if I have chronic pancreatitis at all! Dr. Lehman & My GI here in Springfield both say that the blood work won't be elevated anymore because my pancreas has burnt itself out. Do you think thats true? I think it has to be. There are so many others from this board who say the same thing. Well, all I gotta say is.....Go Figure! Anyone have an opinon on the subject? I'm open to any & all!
