Guest guest
To all, I am finally getting with it again, since checking out of the hosp. on Thurs (I think, its so easy to lose track of days these days). Had kind of a good/bad experience. At the hospital I go to my specialist doesn't attend. A " hospitalist " takes care of inpatient stuff. He is just a generalized physician. He came in and immediately started in. My whole problem was my pain meds. They were causing my problems, blah blah. (wouldn't come out and say it but I think he thinks I'm addicted). He said something to the effect it seems like you come in here every month or two, is something going on at home you are trying to get away from? (Yeah, Love the hospital, Love the countless sticks, Love my kids growing up without me((insert sarcastic tone as needed)). I am sure it is pain med addiction that caused the swelling in my pancreas and the calcifications. He ended by saying " we can't keep doing this. " I said " you are absolutely right. But until you fix what's causing my pain, you can't take away my pain meds. I completely agree I can't keep doing this. I can't lay here in pain forever, I can't continue to be an absent wife and mom. I want to do something. I want to see about surgical options. I specifically mentioned TP-ICT. He talked to the specialist, changed his mind about the pain meds, and got me an appt. to see Dr Edmundowicz in St. Louis at -Jewish hospital/ Washington University. I have been there before a couple of years ago and was told surgery wasn't for me yet. Just keep doing what I was doing. As far as I know they don't do TP-ICT, my specialist said they were doing it ten years ago when he was there?? Do you think he is confused and thinking of a pancreatectomy alone? Does anyone know of TP-ICT done in St. Louis?? Any how I am home and coming up on normal activity level for me so I will try to catch up on posts I missed. If anyone directed anything to me without response feel free to remind me. Love and hope for wellness, Keri in IL
