Guest guest
> Hi Heidi. > > I had my blood sugar checked yesterday and it came back to be 81. I guess diabetes is not the problem for all the symptoms I have. Also, would you please read my post on skin changes and CP and give me you input. I value your input very highly. T. , WHEW!!!! This is just such wonderful news! I am so GLAD that my fears were unfounded! Did the doctor say what he/she thought could be causing your edema, excessive thirst and night time urination? With the threat of diabetes out of the way, now you could think about the possiblity of an allergic reaction or side effect of a new medication. Are you taking any new medications, or have you been eating something new? I did read your post on your skin itching problem and was going to tell you that I have that, too, but usually just in one area. My ankles and the top of my foot itch all the time, but more so at night. I have no idea what causes it. It started up sometime last year, and I've just gotten used to it, but as soon as I sit down at night in front of the TV, it starts to annoy me more. I also use lots of lotion, Aveeno, which I love because it lasts 24 hours and is supposed to be great for dry skin. I wish I had some suggestions that would help you. I have sensitivity problems with a lot of lotions and cosmetics, and have found that I have to be careful with what products I use. Have you ever had any problems like this before? Guest guest
Heidi, that itching could be the start of diabetic neuropathy. It sometimes starts off as an " itchy " feeling and then progresses to a " painful " feeling whenever something brushes against the skin. You might want to talk to your doctor about this as diabetic neuropathy is a serious condition and should receive treatment as soon as possible. Another sign of neuropathy is numbness in spots. Just thought I'd warn you. I've got it and it's fine as long as I take my medication. It's one of the complicatons of diabetes. Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@...
