Guest guest
Hello everyone I'm Jenn I live in Chicago, Il and have a 6 yr. old son. Let me appologize for the lenght of this but I think you may need all info to help. About my condition from as early on as I can remember from time to time I would get this severe pain and have to lie on my back with legs elevated for the whole day I would be so tiered I just slept like that. Around 16 my mom finally tok me to see doctors at our clinic they put me through numerous tests (upper GI, Lower GI, CT, 3 Laporoscopys, a Endoscopy, blood work, ultrasounds, ect.) and found nothing. It began to get so bad I ended up in the hospital a dozen or so times the only thing they found was a elavated amylase. Many doctors than told my mom I just needed attention I just didn't want to go to school! So it was left alone until I got to see a GI this is wgen I had the endoscopy he diagnosed me with acute pancreatitis, told me to stay away from alcohol (by the way the doctors and my mom were suspicious I may of be a drinker at 16!) limit fat and stress. Well none of that worked it keeps coming back sometimes back to back sometimes it will be gone for months. Another doctor at 27 diagnosed me Chronic gave me enzymes and heartburn medicine my amylase at this time was very high. I have been shuffled around to many doctors with no help now I'm being seen at The University of Chicago where I have them stumpped they have once again put me through a CT, blood work and ultra sound they want me to do the lower GI. They say that because my amylase is high but my lipase is normal it can't pancreatitis and are on a mission to prove that diagnosis wrong! I have just started researching and am finding great sites but nothing on lipase levels and if that can really change things. I don't think these doctors are believing me when I tell how painful this is or how tiered I get I get the impression they think I just don't want to go to work. If anyone has anything about please let me know. Thank you,
