Guest guest
Hello all, I have two questions for you. 1)My son has had 2 ct scans, one during his pancreatic attack and one during the recovery period. Both have shown that the wall of his small bowel has thickened. Is this at all related to pancreatitis? Has anyone else had this finding occur on a ct scan? 2)What is the typical duration of recovery from a pancreatitis attack? My son's case was of moderate severity and we are now 4 weeks out from the initial onset. While markedly improved since his hospitalization he still is not quite right. Intermittant pain episodes, intermittant lethargy, intermittant elevated temp. All tests(blood, including lipase and amylase levels, and ct scan) have come back within normal limits, with the exception of the thickened small bowel. Our docs here don't seem to have an answer for why he is having the troubles he is having. They would expect him to be over the pancreatitis because his levels are normal. I'd appreciate any insights you might have! Thanks! Beth
