Change of Insurance question

I need help, I can't get an answer from my health insurance that i

need to know.

I'm hoping one of you may be able to help me.

We have our BCBS insurance through my husband's work. If he changes

jobs, naturally, his insurance with the new company won't kick in

for 3 months or so. Does this mean that I will then have to wait 12

months for my preexisting conditions (pancreatitis, tumours, & FAPs)

to kick in again? or are they still covered as I have already waited

12 months when my name was first added to his insurance with his

current and hopefully, soon to be old employer.

Do we have to keep COBRA payments going for this to not lapse? And

if we went from Company paid insurance to personal paid insurance,

even if with the same insurance company..bcbs, do I lose the

preexisting coverage also? or does that just continue as if we

hadn't changed anything?

Where I'm from originally in Australia, as long as leaving one

insurance company for another, the payments are continuous, not

missing any when changing, preexisting conditions are still covered

by the new insurance group. Of course, if I were to miss 2 or more

payments, then it would become delinquent and i would have to wait

the 12 month waiting period again.

Hope you may be able to answer my question. I keep getting the run

around from insurance companies, or get told...ask your employer.

But that doesn't work, because we of course don't want them to know

hubby may be looking for a job elsewhere..duhhhhhh

lol..thanks for anything you can tell me

,

your husband should have been given some packet on his health coverage

every year when he has to either change it or keep it the same (open

enrollment period). This information should be in the packet that

explains all his health coverage options.
