That was a long time in coming. Hip Hip Hooray! You also wrote, " ... Despite several physicians indicating that she has recurrent Pancreatitis, the evidence does not show the blood testing results consistent with that disease process " God love 'em, but we have years of work ahead of us. Sometimes I feel like it is the early 1970s and we have AIDS. I am curious if the attorney understands that advanced Chronic Pancreatitis, by nature of the disease process, has a 99.9% improbability of producing enzymes. (Hand across the forehead) The exocrine cells that produce amylase & lipase have been autodigested to nothingness by the caustic action of the enzymes they produced. (This is what is referred to as " burn out. " The literature states that " when burnout occurs, there should be no pain " . And, the literature is correct .. if the sentence is completed " .. no pain from enzyme autodigestion. " The pain of Chronic Pancreatitis is not caused from caustic autodigestion of enzymes. It is caused by the damage incurred by the spinal nerves integrating into the pancreas at the neuropathic pain fiber pathways during the process of autodigestion. The inability of the pancreas to produce enzymes in advanced Chronic Pancreatitis is supported by documentation found at www.labtestonline/pancreatitis. What I wrote was a black and white description of Acute & Chronic Pancreatitis, which there is none. We are all on a course that is somewhere in between, a little of that, a little of that. There are additional things that contribute to the pain experienced with Chronic Pancreatitis, i.e., splenic involvement, exocrine insufficiency, etc. What I want to impress to the powers that make decision that affect our lives, is that it isn't from enzyme autodigestion, maybe I should say, active enzyme autodigestion. It is definitely a byproduct of this horrific process. We are making progress, though difficult to see. It wasn't until recently that Pancreatitis was on the list of disabling diagnoses. We just need to add an amendment which contains criteria to define and support the diagnosis. Today, however, , congratulations on your win. One step at a time. See you next month. Guest guest
Hi Karyn, Thanks for your kind words! Yes, you are so right about my spirits being lifted here lately! I was in such an awful mood for weeks after I went to my hearing in June. My girls were walking on egg shells there for awhile. It seemed no matter what they did I'd bite their heads off. I felt awful about it! I am in a much better mood lately. Amy, my 16 y/o, who just started working at Rally's Hamburgers, got the job so she could have a bit of extra money for herself. I told her she didn't have to work now that we will be getting a little more money each month, but she is going to stick with it. I'm so proud of her! Her boyfriend had his licenses for about a month & got a speeding ticket when they were coming back on the highway from a mall out of town. His dad is a police sargeant here in Springfield & this poor boy has been grounded for weeks. He finally was able to come see Amy last night. Its been about 5 weeks! So now she wants to keep working so she can get a car & stuff before school starts. We'll see about that one! Sorry, I'm just rambling on & on for some reason! I will be sure to send you a post on my experience with SSI as soon as I have the time to sit down & really thinking about what happened. They have me disabled since Feb. 1, 2000. Its been a really long haul, thats for sure! Can't wait until next month! I'm so excited to see everyone! Lots of Hugs, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` , I also wanted to say that you should look forward to a surge of " good days " . Just the finality of the favorable SSI disability proceedings will lift a tremendous amount of pressure and stress from your spirit. You might just sprout wings and fly!
