Hi all

Endometriosis was something I suffered from for several years along my

c-section incision. Took 3 surgeries to finally get rid of it. Last time the

mass

was the size of a softball. Anyway the mass would shrink and grow with my

cycle during my period was the worst. Contrary to the medical communities

belief BCP were no help what so ever to me. As a matter of fact the only thing

they did besides keep me from getting pregnant was give me a yeast infection

every month right along with my period. YUCK! I had tried just about every

brand

out there till I finally gave up Even the new ones where the dosage of

hormones change every few days. We used a combination of the rhythm method with

seimicde suppositories, worked for 9 yrs. Then we tried to get pregnant I had

my

son and had my tubes tied. Endometriosis

pain is much different from pancreas pain. Much, much lower.

July's Woman Day magizine has and interesting article called is your period

making you sick. It talks about a condition called premenstrual exacerbation

that can cause flare-ups in underlying health conditions. It isn't know

exactly what's behind the this effect but they think the trickle down effect of

hormone fluctuations are the cause. They go on to say track your symptoms for

both PMS and your underlying condition as well threw out the month so you can

show changes to your dr. Conditions they say it can effect include, asthma,

diabetes, digestive disorders, eating disorders, epilepsy, headaches mood

disorders and pain conditions. I don't know about you guys but seems to me

pancreatitis would fit in there. I know that Cassie has flare-ups during her

period but

pediatrician says " NoWay. " My OB/GYN says oh most definitely. Say's a high

number of women have first pancreatic attack during pregnancy so why wouldn't

horomone flucuations during your period also effect you. I know for me that I

have always had more digestive issues during my period. I have always gotten

server diarrhea and eat very little during that time cause I'm always

nauseas

My other comment regarding BCP was I was told 10-15 years ago that no woman

should ever. ever take hormones for longer than 10 years. This is a whole life

total. At that point in time I had already been on them for about 12 yrs.

The accumulative effects of a lifetime on hormones is not known.
